Day 2

And I am on my way. I crossed the first milepost, and I’m headed for mile marker number two. I shall meet that one with a poem…my first poem of the month. Since it’s only the second, I don’t think that’s much of wait. This one comes from that part of a woman that gets sick of being asked questions men never have to answer.

JUST ASKING

 Don’t get huffy.
I was just asking.
Nothing harmed.

Just asking…
You are my co-worker
Why must you know
My bra size?

Don’t get huffy.
I was just asking.
Nothing harmed.

Just asking…
You follow me around the office all day
And now you want to know
Where I live?

Don’t get huffy.
I was just asking.
Nothing harmed.

Just asking…
Why I think I am qualified
For the job I’ve worked
For twenty years?

Don’t get huffy.
I was just asking.
Nothing harmed.

Just asking…
A stranger, a man I never met
And you want to take me home?
The answer is NO.

I was just asking!
Why are you so shrill?
