Women's Writes

Well-behaved women seldom make history.

Day 26

With five days to go, I start to slump. It gets difficult immersing yourself in any topic for so long, but when that topic is one with all the triumphs and tragedies of being a woman, it can really start to wear on you. I will make it. I make it every year. It may require more of me this year than last, and more next year than this, but I am full of determination, perseverance, and sheer stubbornness. So here is tonight’s offer: more haiku.

WOMAN HAIKU

Women have a right
To be who they want to be.
Get over yourself.

 No woman has time
To wait for men to build her.
She will build herself.

 Barbie doll has died.
I threw her out the window.
I am not your toy.
