Women's Writes

Well-behaved women seldom make history.

Day 9

I know, it hasn’t been a day since I posted the last. That is because I didn’t post for a day. Today I decided to look up things on the Internet again. The Internet decided what I was asking is what is the purpose of a woman (hint: it wasn’t). The answers it brought up were…predictable. I worked them into a poem.

PURPOSE OF A WOMAN

 Purpose of a woman?
Childbearing, of course.
There must be something else.
Of course. Childrearing.
Nothing more?
Woman provides care, support, and nurturing.
The purpose of a woman is to love a man.
Make deposits in the emotional resources bank.
Building up the people in your life.
Be the backbone of families and communities.
Essential to the development of others.
A woman takes care of everyone –
Except, of course, herself.
She must always efface herself
Before the needs of others.
At least, it says so on the Internet.
It must be true.
