Women's Writes

Well-behaved women seldom make history.

Day 19

It’s been a sort of weird day. I woke up this morning with a sinus headache that made me sick all over. I’ve been sitting around doing nothing most of the day. It’s hard for me to do nothing, but sometimes your body just sort of forces you to. I did manage to do one thing, though. I wrote my piece for today. So here it is, another poem from a common theme, the theme of the double standard applied to women vs. men.

SHE HAD A DATE

 She had a date.
She’s a tramp.
Nothing happened.
She’s frigid.
They flirted.
She’s a cockteaser.
She said she’d go out with him again.
She’s desperate.
Man crazy.
A slut.

He had a date.
He’s a stud.
Nothing happened.
He’s a gentleman.
They flirted.
He’s sexy.
He asked her out again.
He’s kind.
He pities her.
He has his reasons, I’m sure.
I hope he gets to second base.
