Women's Writes

Well-behaved women seldom make history.
— Laurel Thatcher Ulrich

Day 16

I feel like I should apologize for today’s poem. It’s sort of…obvious. But it stands as it is, and sometimes the obvious might be worth stating.

AS

As a woman moves,
I move.
As a woman thinks,
I think.
As a woman loves,
I love.
As a woman dreams,
I dream.

As a woman, I can do nothing else
But move like a woman,
Think like a woman,
Love like a woman,
Dream like a woman.

 This is not to claim
That women all move,
Think, love, dream,
In the same way.
Though other women are different,
And move, think, love, dream,
Differently than I,
Still they do it as women.
